Building for the Future

March 2004 marked the beginning of the School’s Tercentenary Year and saw the launch of a major Development Appeal to raise funds for the School to continue to provide as wide a range of opportunities for students as possible. Our plans are ambitious and we are already reaping the benefits of the successful completion of Phase 1 of our development programme which includes the spectacular Clarendon Muse and our new Sports and Fitness Centre. Both developments are clear examples of our uncompromising pursuit of excellence in all areas.

Phase 2 of our development plan includes much needed improvements to the facilities for the Sixth Form and hopefully for Drama and Catering. We are also keen to remain at the forefront of technological innovation harnessing its vast possibilities for the benefit of the pupils and staff. Both development phases will bring huge benefits for generations of our pupils and for the local area through the work we undertake with our community partners.

The activity of the past few years has been tremendous and we are rightly proud of what we have achieved through the careful management of assets and income. We have an annual funding gap of approximately 1.5% and we are one of the lowest funded schools in Hertfordshire. That is why we depend on donations to help us fund further building development and much needed equipment in all areas. We are appealing to you and to the generations of alumni and friends of the School to work in partnership with us and help us realise our ambitions. With your ongoing support, we will be able to continue to develop generations of young men who can really make a difference.

 Thank you for your help.
