Watford Grammar School for Boys has enviable standards across competitive sports to place it amongst the best schools in the country. To highlight a few of our sporting successes:

• We are the top state school for hockey

• We are one of only eight Saracen partner schools

• We have among our alumni top national and international rugby players including John Taylor, Josh Lewsey and Don Barrell

• We are consistently a top cricket school in Hertfordshire.

To ensure these successes continue and to provide every pupil of every age with the chance to improve their own health and wellbeing we have invested over £1m in a new Sports Hall and Fitness Suite. The state-of-the-art facility comprises a multi-purpose sports hall, a modern weights and fitness centre, a dance and exercise studio, teaching and conference facilities and a social/hospitality area.

We urgently need £250,000 to upgrade our sports equipment. As well as providing much needed facilities for our pupils, this area will also enable the School to develop community partnerships with organisations such as Mencap who can use these facilities out of school hours.
