Alongside Mr Tokarz and the English Department, Year 7 have been working to create handmade cards which will be given to residents of local care homes. As part of the ‘Acts of Kindness’ movement I have been very impressed by the creativity, artistic focus and kindness that the boys have poured into these cards. The Care Home managers have told me what a difference these cards make; many residents have few visitors or family and the cards made by the boys bring a lot of joy and happiness.

This year we have delivered over 160 Christmas cards to Care homes.  5 boys whose cards showed they had a great attitude of excellence when creating their card joined me in delivering the cards. We had a great time walking there and enjoyed speaking to the staff of The Chase Care Home, who were over the moon with WBGS card delivery and told the boys that they had no idea how much the cards would mean to the residents, they will make a lot of people very happy over the festive period. We had a lovely walk back to school discussing our favourite Christmas films...most popular was Home Alone (I still prefer ELF).
